- Its always fast paced in the city compared to the countryside
- People in cities generally viewed as smarter
Ethnicity
- Stereotypical black teenager, wearing a hoodie and cap
- Just because they are of a different ethnicity doesn't mean there completely different people
- Traditional Indian wedding are normally arranged marriages
- Hollyoak's Indian family is not a typical stereotypical family
- another stereotype for Indian families is that the parents are very strict
- This is England is a very stereotypical view of the white working class, always depicted in media as racist and stupid
- Another stereotype is that a African man is lazy and won't work for his money, this is of course not true but in media black people are mainly portrayed badly
- A taboo in a stereotypical Indian family would be if one of their sons was gay, as it is strictly forbidden in the Muslim faith
Sexuality
- Gay men generally depicted in media by wearing tight clothes and having a high voice, this is because the media want to keep this stereotype so they can use it so show the viewer who is gay very quickly
- Lesbian generally depicted as butch and manly, and play generally thought as as 'male' sports like football and rugby
- Gay pride parades
- Always a very extreme view of gay people in media
- In Billy Elliot his dad drags him out of ballet lessons because he thinks that his son is gay and doesn't want him doing ballet, ballet is a another sexist art that we always think that men doing ballet are gay, this is wrong but we have been programmed by the media to think that the man is gay
- In TV shows the producers will normally have a gay character do three steps in the plot, discovering there sexuality, coping with it and then telling others
